My Australian Cattle Dog is not friendly with other dogs. We think it is because the owner of the dog before us had only neutered my dog and not her brother, and we think her brother might have done things to her against her will. Every time a dog comes to sniff my dog, she bites the dog. And when my dog is even farther away from the dog she barks loudly and her fur stands up. Does anyone know a trainer within 100 miles of Mamaroneck, NY who can teach my dog to be social?

The Australian Cattle Dog has been breed and selected to be a solitary dog, away from anyone but the shepherd with the objective to constantly be on the look-out for any spare sheep that has to be brought back to the herd.

This is not a social dog – towards other dogs.

well i have a um 9 week old doberman pincher and i was wondering when would be the best time to start training him to sit. to go to the bathroom outside etc.. and i also wanted to know how to train him to be an attack dog but thats not important. i was just wondering when would be the best time to train my puppy. and i do have a cage.

From the minute you bring it into your house.

And as for the attack dog training – start with obedience, since you need a GREAT solid, responds every time without fail obedience to begin further training. Then, you find a great trainer to do temperament testing. When your dog fails that, you find a great breeder that breeds lines specifically for protection work, spend $$$ on a new pup, and spend 3-4 years training it. Good luck.

I would like to teach my dog some cool trick such as dance, roll over, sit, stand, lay down, play dead, and all the other cool tricks dogs can do. I also would like to train my dog to walk with me without a leash, and so on. Does anyone know a really good web-site that provides good training methods? Thanks!
